Chapter One: Treading
The artist's numerous walks in the tropical rainforest enabled her to detach from her social roles in real life. Her walking experience was not a sightseeing trip; rather, it was an unceasing challenge to the limits of her body, actively throwing herself into an alien environment for a pilgrimage, questioning and pursuing the neglected or even evaded self. She internalized nature as a part of her "self", achieving an interpenetration between herself and the wilderness. The new changes in her works also originated from this pilgrimage. The fantastical, mysterious and eerie imagination brought by the rainforest environment, along with the uneasy and tense experiences, were the surges of her subconsciousness in an irrational state.
Therefore, the artist's new thoughts intertwined with nature, capturing the fleeting moments of encountering the creator behind nature, and subsequently conveying a primitive and mysterious spiritual light.
