Imaginist — In Part

First, out of a vast number of works, we are only able to select and present several dozen, hence the word “in part”.Second, while the world is far from perfect, there are always fragments of goodness—a book, a bookstore, a corner of the city.

They may not be grand, nor can they alter the whole, yet as long as they exist, wisdom resides within them, just as the slogan of Imaginist Press puts it: Imagine Another Possibility.

The name “Imaginist” is derived from Plato’s Republic, a work that explores the city-state and justice.We may find it difficult to construct a complete ideal order, but we can practice our own standards through reading and reflection.

The books in this collection cover a wide range of subjects: photography and philosophy, social commentary, fiction, literature, and obscure details in art history.

A utopia cannot be built by books alone, yet an ideal “Imaginist” project is inseparable from rich and diverse reading.
